High Altitude Aerodynamics
This module introduces some basic aerodynamic principles. Further, it builds awareness on aircraft control and stability problems that might occur during a high altitude flight. It also explains the components that contribute to aircraft stability and safety during high-altitude/high-speed flight.
High Altitude Weather
This module introduces pilots to specific weather related challenges like jetstreams, mountain waves, volcanic ash, and ozone contamination that they might face during a high altitude flight. Pilots flying at high-altitude should be aware of these challenges before planning a flight.
High Altitude Aviation Physiology
This module examines how environmental and health factors can affect a pilot’s performance, as well as the specific effects of various conditions on vision and consciousness. It also provides information on United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and general aviation safety guidelines. Finally, it provides information on the purpose of altitude chamber training and related precautions.
